The reason this so popular among women (aside from typically slightly stronger senses of smell) is that your boyfriend's shirt carries his scent, so it's a constant reminder of him, plus wearing it is like getting a hug that never stops. I'm mature enough to admit I'm jealous.

Unfortunately, while there ARE females big enough to wear clothes I could that with, they're female gorillas, who don't wear clothes. Also, I prefer to date within my own species. Maybe if I start dating again, I'll present my new paramour with the traditional* ludicrously oversized sweater...

But I know it's very different the other way around. Most women I've ever been with have constantly stolen my clothes and wore them around the house whenever they could. And don't even start me on jackets and sweatshirts - even when they're ridiculously too big, women LOVE to steal a man's jacket. So many hoodies I'll never get back...

Not a shirt, but when I travel my wife gives me a teddy bear that smells like her.

When I was in high school, I was head over heels crushing on a girl. It was a very strange something-ship. Anyway, she had a fantastic men's blazer that fit me perfectly. I'd often wear that and it smelled like her. Never to cuddle with at night, though.
