I’m currently dating a girl with two kids one is 3 and has autism. She wants me to move in and take a fatherly role and I’m just wondering how difficult is it to help with an autistic child. He does not talk much and will has a lot of trouble sleeping.

You've got to have a ton of patience and do some research on how autistic kids learn best. Honestly treating them like normal kids (playing, teasing, teaching consequences, etc.) gives them a much better advantage and opportunity to experience a more normal life. Autistic kids just have a different way of seeing the world and all you have to do is let them show you how they see the world and respond to it positively.
It depends on the level of autism, high functioning autism is usually not even noticeable. However, I have an autistic stepbrother who has made my life a living hell
