How many of you have the following values?

Believing that people have to be private schooled and from rich families to be worth dating or marrying? This isn’t meant to start an argument or a debate. I just want honest opinions. There is no wrong answer to this question. Just a matter of opinion.

I don't think this is needed to be worth dating or marrying at all, I literally don't know even one person in my life who received such education, yet people around me keep dating and having their experiences, some marry, etc (however, I live in the EU).
I would rather question why a person would put this as a requirement for dating, and I think the only cases could be: a person with small to no experience in general (so is clueless and shoots random requirements they think are valid and have priority), or a person who comes from that environment of expensive private schools, who had only friends from that environment, and so did their parents. That would be more a requirement for "compatibility", to feel like coming from the same "culture", somehow, if that person wants full compatibility.
But having good introspection skills, communication skills, relationship skills, emotional stability, good moral values and a good future vision is not something that is taught in those schools. Also, being financially "okay" and not broke, is also not something exclusive to those who got an expensive private schooling. So I think this requirement has (or should have) generally no priority over the rest.

To me, if you believe that, you're a shitty person with shitty values about who to date (and likely shitty values in other ways too. This isn't something that's going to exist outside a person with a generally shitty world-view).

Fuck people who have those values. They suck. I don't know what else to tell you. I'd walk away from someone at a cocktail party if they expressed this view. That's... a shitty person I don't want anything to do with. Fuck 'em. They suck as people.

I have to say. I don't know if I've actually run into anybody with such messed-up views before. Not in real-life. I don't even know if anyone actually is that absurd. If there are. I don't want anything to do with them. I literally feel like I'm better than those people. (because I'm better than those people).

Well I thought that was probably the case. I don't know if you'll find anybody who does. It's so over-the-top. But there are ridiculous people in the world.. so we'll see. But I've got my fingers crossed nobody is this over-the-top in 2023. That's some like Victorian era classism you're talking about. 🙂
