Would you stay in a place you hate for love? What should I do?

I was raised in the Midwest, but moved down south to be with family. I've lived here almost 2 years now and I hate it and it hates me. It seems like the universe is constantly telling me that I can't create a life here and what really sucks is I get sick from the heat.

I told my boyfriend of over a year now when we first started dating that I would wanna move back somewhere colder before the heat. The dreaded heat is coming back and I wanna move. I'd like him to come with, but I'm trying not to pressure him.

He's got a lot going on right now. Between family issues and his roommate wants him to find another place by September.

He's talked about moving somewhere colder like Colorado because be doesn't like the heat, but he's got a good job that pays well. He's scared to leave his hometown.

I don't blame him for that. I don't know what to do. I don't wanna push him, but I don't wanna loose him. We've agreed to do long distance for awhile, but how long is that gonna last.

I think you have to compromise. Yes, some places in the South are hot, humid and God awful. If he cares about you, and you hate where you are, he should want to make a change. You also have to realize he's doing what he can. He's working. Is it location specific like the oil industry where he needs to be near the gulf coast? Can he find something in his field up north? LDR won't work. If you're doing that, the relationship will fail.

Well Amazon is everywhere. Just get a xfer to Wisconsin or Iowa

Relationship will blow up but that’s better than your discontent and emotional insanity bombarding “me”.. You are not married so lead yourself lives so that your basic needs are fulfilled. Good luck with it.

Love is super important... But not the be all end all.. could you compromise? Move. something midway or holidays in the preferred place? It's hard to imagine a lifetime of misery w everything else even w the right soul mate.

I'm willing to compromise to move somewhere closer. I don't particularly wanna move to Colorado. But I'd try it if it makes him happy. I just don't know if he'll compromise.
