Why do most people take someone back when they cheat?

I'm for sure guilty of this but wanted to see what other people had to say? I'm not sure why I keep fighting after they cheated I just didn't wanna give up I'm guessing..

most men do not take the person back but woman do most of the time

Most people do NOT take someone back if they cheated. It happened to me twice and I dumped both of them. My mom cheated and my father divorced her. My brother's wife cheated and he divorced her. My boss' girlfriend cheated and he dumped her. I don't know anyone who was cheated on and took the cheating POS back.

Because both genders are told in different ways that it's THEIR fault if their partner cheats.

Women are usually told by traditional-minded parents/grandparents.

Men are told by either the women around them or PUA-type role-models.
