Maybe they see it as that person having some control over you that crosses the line?
Not that this exactly the same thing. But I had a ladyfriend who met a guy that she would eventually marry. This I guess had a previous marriage where she cheated on him. So he would not ALLOW my ladyfriend to have her own Facebook account (among other things). As some people do, she found it cute, his possessiveness.
Fast forward several years. of marriage later and he cheats on HER and walks out of the marriage. Now she's been kind of broken about it for a year.
I guess I'm only telling this story because if you were in this you probably would take exception to a person who gets so close to someone they lose thier own identity.
I always like to say it doesn't matter weather 2 people have been together for 5 days or 50 years. They will ALWAYS be 2 separate people. And I think it's important to always remember that. You can still be very close and devoted to someone without losing your identity.
