Most girls I´ve met over the years are loyal but they have high standards and need much patience of a guy to develop a relationship. They are not the ones looking for sex or a rich lifestyle but they need to they can trust a guy 100% before they are open to a relationship.

Will girls in those situations be doing friends with benefits or open relationships before choosing one? Or not have sex at all until having a monogamous relationship?

I can't speak for all but many only have sex in a monogamous relationship. I don't know any one who ever had a friends with benefits relationship.

Probably because less women feel secure over being a girlfriend for 8 years vs being a wife for 8 years. It feels bad after a while of still being just a girlfriend.

After 5+, it's unlikely he's going to propose. The longer she's in the girlfriend zone, the less likely she'll get into the fiancee and then wife zone. If she wanted marriage and kids (which most women want; more women want commitment than just dating forever), she already wasted time and sadly... if he won't propose, she has no other choice but leave and find someone else.
