He had his little reaction and it passed. He's a fireman and paramedic now. And the 23 he said that thank you for making me wait until I was 18 to get a tattoo.. if I would have got one I would hate it right now.
I said yeah I know40 Reply

+1 yI hate ALL tattoos.
ALL tattoos.
The name of someone else? That has got to be the most idiotic. Keep a picture of them on your desk or on the wall of your place. Don't brand their name on your body. I've seen lots of Reddit stories of relationships that break up over some new guy who doesn't want the girl because she has some other guys name on her body. Even some dead husband that she chose to immortalize by branding herself with his name. No matter. Only a fool would be with her.
Tattoos to honor some person has got to be the most idiotic thing to do.
If I die... it DISHONORS me if my daughter tattoos herself. That does me no honor. I'd hate that. Just talk fondly of me with friends and family, keep a picture of me around. Don't debase your body with ink and uses me as the reasoning.

I have once thought about it I would be able to do something like. All depends if we both wanted to get the names tattooed on each other bodies first and then go from there.
Yeah, worrying about if the relationship is going to work out long term is something to definitely think about and make sure you’ll be okay if it doesn’t. It’s like having two people getting married and then both decide to instead of getting rings why not getting tattooed rings to symbolize their love? Obviously not all marriages work out, if they do divorce then they would need to get rid of the tattoo ring.10 Reply
+1 yI have my husband’s name, it’s my only tattoo.
I got it about 9 years ago, we are still together but going through a massive rough patch, we might get divorced
So do I regret it? Yes and no. I regret that it’s not the best looking tattoo because the artist wasn’t great. But do I regret getting it? No, that is how I felt at the time. I loved him with everything that I had, he’s the father of my children. I don’t regret marrying him or the tattoo, what it stands for to me.
Whether or not we stay together it will probably need to be lasered to lighten and then covered. No big deal.

u +1 yDumbest idea ever. If I had done that with every relationship that lasted six months or longer, I would have at least ten different girls' names tattoo'ed on my body.
41 Reply 4.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. If you know you will be with them for the long haul then there is nothing wrong with it if you are both head over heels for each other , it if you feel the relationship will eventually end then don’t do it
10 Reply620 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I am covered in tattoos and I would absolutely never. I never understood the idea of showing love through something like that, especially if it’s a toxic partner you are just supplying fuel to ego.
20 Reply309 opinions shared on Relationships topic. No way! What if you ever break up! Plus, as your skin starts to sag, the letters might start to look like another guy's name.

+1 yThat's fine ... for now. But what happens if, sometime later, you have a different partner? Tattoos are not easy to erase.
10 Reply 1.9K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Great idea if you only plan on being with them. I would maybe get a tat of my husband's name

@Apple1996 “Maybe” that’s what I said lol
No, b/c it would be super embarrassing to explain it to another girl.
An old girlfriend wanted names, but I talked her into getting symbols instead... she picked the symbol.
Which is why I have a giant Playboy bunny tattoo on my arm.
... which is even more super embarrassing to explain to another girl.

+1 yMy rule is 3 years & then I can get a tattoo of it. I only have 2 rn. My husband had a rule of if he can afford it and fit it on 1 arm, then he can get the tattoo, so he has a lot on that 1 arm & the rest of his body is blank. We decided on getting each other name tattoos in one more year, since he will have been going by his new name for 3 years at that point, and he is fine with getting my name even if I've only been going by it for 1–2 years.

+1 yI don't find it stupid, but it'd be a no for me. I don't deal well with pain and getting a tattoo isn't painless from what I know from people who have several tattoos. My sensitive skin wouldn't be able to handle it.
10 Reply 599 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I have tattoo of my husband’s name on my right thigh. No regret at all.
