As in if you just feel comfortable and right with someone or really happy, would you do well in a relationship even if you had nothing in common?

You need SOME things in common. How much and what type of things depends a lot on the couple. There is a big difference between couples, but there is always something that holds them together.
"if you just feel comfortable and right with someone"
This is kind of all-inclusive. It might not be apparent, but they have something in common. For example if one likes quiet, and the other likes to constantly play music, it will not work well - there will be tension. If both like quiet, then they have something in common.
Love alone isn't enough. There is always some practical side to relationships. If you feel comfortable around each other, it means lots of little things are in place.
If you leave the house and go out doing separate things, that is fine, as long as you are both comfortable with it. Most couples will have something outside the home they both enjoy doing together, but it's not 100% necessary, as long as both are OK with things as-is. You just have to be honest with yourselves whether you are really OK with it or not.
Thanks! Very interesting and wise comment!
