Why do men and women have so much trouble communicating?

I think some of it happens to be due to the fact that too many men and women make it us vs them and have sour attitudes towards that stem from generalizing each other.

You have to be able to assume the best in each other to communicate well. Take gag for example. Reading hundreds of why are all men, why are all women nonsensical questions.

There are many reasons why people can't communicate and that's also caused by deceiving each other and not being honest. I think this is a much harder question to ask that it seems. There are many more reasons I'm sure. These just came to mind.

I almost never make stereotypical statements, but this one seems to have truth to it most of the time. Women seem to struggle talking about things that bother them. I know the "I'm fine" line is a major cliché, but it really seems to be that way a lot of the time. That said, I don't understand why.

It depends.

Some have, some haven't.

A lot of people come from families, where talking about stuff is not something encouraged. So they are not used to do it. Some were always blamed and they don't know how to talk not feeling defensive. Some are closed off and have problems with voicing there opinion and defend it.

And even if you have apartner who is open to communicate, the strategies can be different, so the communication itself is not the easiest.

We need time and patience to create a strategy which fits our relationship.

I actually don't have a problem with this...

whether is my mother, relatives, friends, neighbours, coworkers, acquaintances... girlfriends, I can communicate with women... and I think most people really don't have this much of an issue either

it's just that sometimes, some people have not found the way to communicate properly or to actually listen to understand others.. in general

i think because issues with opposite sex parents in childhood have a more profound impact, especially if the relationship was not great

Preconceived notions that we operate completely differently in wants and needs. Made up rules dumb people try to follow but are toxic.

It's usually because women are terrible at communicating, expect men to read their minds, and get angry when they fail to do so.
