Why do men communicate less than women in relationships?

Initially they are very consistent and flirty, but with time does the attraction diminish or you develop more comfort in the relationship? Even though, they still show care through actions and many other gestures but why do the messages or phone calls/ in person meets decline? Like if he informs you that he will be busy all day and text later but only replies at the end of a day or after many hours, is or normal or is he not interested?
