A few years is a long time from now. Best wait until after you've married to consider that question. How serious is he about you if he only wants to get married a few years from now? He might say it's his career, but if he's not ready now to get married, he probably won't be ready when his job takes off, as he will want some time to spend all of his money on fun stuff before he is forced to spend it on important responsibilities.

It's not about age. You and your mate should discuss this and decide to start having kids when you are mature enough to be tied to a 24/7/365 babysitting job, and are financially well off to do it.

If you want to go to college and have a career, you should at least get the college done before you have kids. Also figure out if this guy is able and willing to support you and a kid. Don't have a kid until you know you can afford it, and don't have a kid with a guy who has a shitty job. Don't marry him until you have lived together for at least a year, and don't have kids until you get married.
