Have any of you had a bad first impression of a person you would eventually fall in love with?

My wife and I had mutual friends and when we first met, she was not a very big fan of mine. She thought I was an “arrogant asshole”! I know! I was as shocked as you. After being around each other in social settings and spending time alone, at times, she eventually grew very fond of me. Have any of you grown to love someone you didn’t expect to?

This made me giggle! Since I kinda know the story. I’ve really never had a bad first impression of someone I would eventually date but like @FunkyMonkee said, I’ve had a good first impression change after time.

@MiddleAgedClimbee I'm thinking specifically of this one girl i met at the mall. She was working in a newly-opened card shop and looked a lot like the girlfriend I'd just lost a few weeks before. She was a very sweet girl and I had a crush on her so, one day, I wrote her a long partly funny letter to try to win her over. I mentioned how I'd never been married but I WAS proposed to 2 years earlier and I would've said yes except that the girl was only 3 years old. Next thing I know, she comes to my house one night with her brand new boyfriend (one of the mall janitors) and starts accusing me of being a pedo because I said I wanted to marry a 3 year old girl!! They were gonna beat me up right there on my porch and she was gonna report me to her dad who was chief of police in her backwoods town about 30 miles away!
The 3 year old in question was the daughter of my girlfriend at the time. I never said I had any intention of marrying the girl! Only that, if she was at least 18 when she asked, and I wasn't seeing her mother, I WOULD'VE possibly accepted her proposal!
