During a conversation someone told me about a time when he/she was a part of an informal group that was quite liberal in many aspects. The person is an extrovert WHO was feeling nostalgic about the past. They talked a lot about the group also on many other occassions. Personaly I would not join such a group, but I do understand the motives of the individual in question and I did tell them about IT. Surprisingly, the last time we saw each other they said that they don't really admit to others to this part of their past as they feel embarrassed about IT. I started wondering whether people, especially extroverts, talk about embarrassing moments in their life with anyone? How about you?

Yep. I'm an open book. If I've got a secret, it's either told to friends, family, or somewhere online. The stranger will find it entertaining, and now they'll remember me.

Usually my go-to when I meet new people is "Hey! Oh by the way, about ten minutes into my first driving lesson I crashed my car into my neighbour's fence. Wrote it off immediately. Now my dad is too afraid to be my passenger. What's your name?"

No. There is a difference about anonymous talk in internet fora and talk with people in real world. In real world showing your real weak spots can be dangerous because other will very likely use it against you. You gain nothing substantial but you expose yourself to possible attacks. It's not a good strategy in my opinion.

It really depends on the context, but I generally keep my private details private. I once chatted with a lady at the gym about a hemorrhoid flare up I was having, but that was only because she saw me rocking back and forth in pain.

Depends on the particulars. In most cases, I don't mind opening up about something embarrassing because I believe most people have experienced something embarrassing. We all go through the human experience.

I feel like people find too many things embarrassing. That’s my opinion of course. A friend of mine literally shit his pants at work and told me about it. Neither of us were uncomfortable nor was it something embarrassing.
I’ve never shit my pants as an adult but this was just more funny than anything

No, usually that kind of conversation is reserved for someone that I have a connection of some kind towards. I'm not about to share embarrassing information with just any random joe blow or jack shit down the street.

People are so judgmental these days and gossip and post stuff online or record people without their consent, far more liars and manipulators today than the past. We live in a cancel culture era. I mean I could say I love God and God’s words are the truth to someone who’s pro-LGBTQ+, people would say CANCEL HIM!
