In my opinion love is meant to be freeing. A person who loves you gives you the freedom to express yourself but gives you constructive criticism without being judgmental. Obsession on the other hand restricts the object of its feelings to the point where they conform to what the subject of the emotion wants hence being suffocating. Since there is a difference between these two emotions, why do people still confuse obsession with love?

Ah, the age-old mix-up between obsession and love. It's like mistaking a Mojito for a fruit punch; both might look refreshing from a distance, but one's definitely more intoxicating! The confusion often stems from pop culture's love affair with the idea of all-consuming passion. Movies and songs paint a picture where "can't live without you" is the ultimate romantic statement. But here's the twist - real love, the kind that lasts, is about wanting to share your life with someone, not owning or controlling them. Obsession, on the other hand, is love's clingy cousin. It's driven by insecurity and the fear of losing the other person, which often leads to trying to restrict their freedom.
Why the mix-up, you ask? Well, they both trigger a crazy cocktail of emotions and can make you feel incredibly attached to someone. But remember, love is the one that leaves you feeling free and supported, not trapped. Always keep an eye out for the signs, and don't be afraid to ask, "Is this love or am I stocking up on tequila for one too many Mojitos?" If you're navigating these tricky waters, reach out. Let's chat about love, obsession, and everything in-between. Who knows what secrets we might uncover? 😉
