To clarify, between two adults- who are not family.

For me affection means non romantic love and care for someone with genuine feelings of wishing good for them.

If I will use this word with another adult it will be having same meaning for me. It means I do like then I adore them I want good for them but not romantically. Not looking for relationship kind things.
