I'm not polyamorous but do "share" my partner. Ofcourse there's jelousy, even most polyamorous couples I know has no difficulty admitting as much. I suppose they feel the benefits of variety and a broader pool of partners with their different experiences and behaviour outweighs the bad.

Why be in a relationship at all then? For practical reasons I guess. You select your favorite to spend the majority of your time with, share expenses and responsibility as you love forward on your journey to whereever you're headed.

What straights don't understand is it's like how you feel about children; if you have three, you don't love only the first one or the "best" one. If that's the case, you're fucked up and should not have kids. Polyamorous people are capable of caring deeply about more than one person at a time. If that's REAL, then there's no jealousy. If you do feel jealous or possessive of someone and want to own them, you're not truly polyamorous. Most people are not.
