Why are some people one sided?

If you expect someone to put you first bur you refuse to put them first, because you need to put yourself first. That’s one sided. Why would any self respecting person be with you

I generally only pursue a one sided arrangement when I'm involved with a woman, but I differ from many people, in that I want the relationship to be centered around what's most preferable for her. In fact, if she's rather selfish, I actually regard that as a very positive attribute.

I expect everyone to put themselves first. That way we can both exist as partners for each other. If i have to put you first in a relationship, then how am i supposed to live my own life? If i choose to put you first in a relationship (not all the time though), then that's just me trying to be a good partner. I'd still need some personal space from time to time
