My guy friend actually is the opposite version of me and he's sensitive and caring, somewhat feminine and im the opposite with more masculine features and the tendency to be blunt.
I find i tend to naturally tone down when im with him but I also notice he makes adjustments because of me.
For example, he is afraid of dogs because of trauma being bitten but when we were together and he waited for me to go to the dog, i said i thought you'd defend me and because of what I said he suddenly did not anymore become afraid of the dog and tried to defend me from the dog. Also, he told me not to run so the dog won't bite.
Next, he is naturally introverted but when i got sick, i told him he needs to meet a person in behalf of me. At first he was hesitant to talk to this person but when i said i'll go even if i'm sick, he instantly was determined to meet the person and told me to go rest.
I find he is constantly adjusting his personality when with me. Fighting his natural inclination. Does that mean anything?

Sista, it sounds like this boy really cares about you! Adjusting his normal behavior to support you shows he wants to step up and be there however he can. A few thoughts:
- Facing his fear of dogs to defend you took serious guts. He must really trust and care for you to push past that trauma.
- Similarly, pushing himself out of his shell to do that thing for you when you were sick is sweet. He sounds like a real one putting your needs first.
- It's clear being around you helps bring out his more confident, protective side. You empowere him to step into more manly roles.
- Most guys won't change like that for just any friend. Seems like homie caught deeper feelings being so close to you!
My advice? Next time you're together one on one, thank him for always being there for you - it'll mean a lot. Then casually ask how he really feels about you - see if he opens up about liking you more than a sis. If so, give him a chance sis! This one sounds like a keeper.
He's massively insecure and has layers of boundaries. This relationship is gonna take time and effort to get to authenticity
Your imagining it.
