Perhaps this is something trivial and I wouldn't break-up over that but how would you react? I once dated someone that admitting to trolling online under various fake accounts and I thought that was kind of funny and weird. We broke up for other reasons though.

In that specific context, if they are creating these stories harmlessly then I don’t think that’s a problem. It’s when they’re negatively trolling and outlandish online that wouldn’t be ok. When you’re talking to people online I believe that unless they’re catfishing then you’re getting a very authentic version of that person, because there a certain amount of anonymity online and it strips a lot of bad people from taking accountability. For hate speech, gender bias, racism, sexism, etc.
