In my case it's neither - this woman was my broker since 2021, and basically swindled me and her other clients. Won't say how much she took from me, but a considerable sum.

I found out because the authorities called me to inform she had been placed in custody right in time because she was about to go back to her country. Also found out she claimed she had "relationships" with her clients, me included, which obviously gave me trouble - not with my wife, because she trusts me - but because the news got out and some people took her word.

Not a nice situation at all.

It’s happened to me before. Nothing too serious but I really laughed with my sister. I have this one cousin who does business from home. Usually she sells things like incense, burners, jewelry, wedding guest dresses and whatnot.

Anyways, she sold me this incense burner for $30. She said her uncle was coming to visit from an Arab country and he was bringing stuff for her business. I thought (which was stupid of me to assume without asking) that the burners would be something he was bringing too. When I got the package, it was a flimsy box with a ‘made in China’ sticker on it. I figured, mehh, everything comes from China. The burner was mediocre at best but I was supporting my cousin and her business.
Maybe 2 weeks later, I found the same burner she sold me as an ad on Facebook being sold on SHEIN for $14.82. She 100% upsold me. 😆
I’m not gonna call her out on it cause I think it’s sorta funny.

I cannot put myself into that position because it is impossible for that to happen to me. If there are a few things I am certain that won't happen to me, that is among those.
