If I can't find a room in a shared apartment does it mean I'm unattractive?

I'm a working student and have been looking for a single apartment or a shared apartment for several months now but I get rejected every time because of "lack of chemistry" even though the conversation was flowing every single time, I earn enough money and I seem reliable (I've been told). I feel like I people wouldn't be so hard on me if I was prettier because I've been told that attractive people have an easy time finding a shared flat or apartment. It seems no matter what I say or how I act they just don't want me. The last time I was inspecting a single apartment the landlord seemed at least a little interested in me until everyone (8 other female prospects) introduced themselves. From then on the landlord and his wife only focussed on the pretty girl with the guarantor. Even at work or other settings I always feel like I'm cast aside and overlooked and like people actively avoid (eye) contact with me as if I have a transmittable disease. I'm clean, articulate, dress well and have a serious demeanour. Now I'm wondering if I'm just treated like an outcast because I'm not attractive enough or are there other possible reasons.

Second, no that’s not always the case, most of the time it’s not. It could just be your personality is seen as flat and uninteresting, meaning you’d be overshadowed by any other girl who came in with a more bubbly personality. Without knowing what you look like I can't possibly have an opinion about whether your looks are a fact or not, but even if they are the important thing is you need to find a way to deal with it that doesn't leave you feeling depressed and rejected. We are who we are and you have to play the hand that you dealt. Don't rely on happiness coming from other people you have to build it yourself. Whether you're attractive or not is not the issue. The issue is what can you do with your life that's going to make you feel fulfilled. And then go out and pursue it. You may be able to reach a lot higher than you think you can.
