Will a regret always linger that I never really experienced young love?

I am turning 30 next week. I am newly engaged as of July. We are each other's very first serious relationship. We met on New Years Eve on December 31, 2023. Like me, she also has a birthday this month. She will turn 27.

I most certainly love her, although I wish we could have met when we were both younger or had some connection in our youth of some sorts. I am her very first kiss after all, but a part of me feels sad that we missed that youth component with each other.

She had minimal dating experience in high school, but obviously it wasn't anything significant considering I am her first kiss.

I feel like overall, I will have that lingering regret of not experiencing young love/romance when I was younger.

Why? You were her first kiss, you share the same birth month, and you met on NYE. How magical is that? You may not get to experience young love, but you get to experience a lot of “firsts” with her.

Pretty common to feel that way, I also sometimes get jealous of my man’s past. But in your girl’s case, she never even kissed any of those guys but she kissed you and she’s gonna be your wife soon!

If you’re worried about her past potentially being the better option for her then you need to prove to her and yourself that you’re the best there is!

I am afraid to ask details about her past. She said I am the first and only guy she has had feelings like this for. But I don't think there is really such a thing as "better". You can have terrible people but everyone is different and can loveable for different reasons. The only advantage guys from her youth have is that they got to experience that time of their lives with each other. I can never say that. It is impossible to change the past.
