Unlike relationships or other love, how would you describe motherly love after giving birth?

I'm in my 2nd month of pregnancy (planned by my husband and I) and this is my first time. I've never carried a living being ever so yes I'm totally new to this. It was calculated my due date would be around June 7th-8th of 2025; two months after my 38th b-day.

Unlike relationships, friendships, loving your parents or other family members, I'm wondering what this new experience would feel like. To all the mothers, what did this new love felt like after giving birth and holding the baby for the first time? How would you describe that?

Personally I can only describe it as being the most immense bonding of love I've ever experienced (twice now) especially whilst breastfeeding.

Although I dearly love my husband (who's father to both our children) there is an indescribable difference of both love and closeness between both our children and myself, as I'm sure any mother will agree with.

I think it is like the best bond you can have with a child.. motherly love is so strong and you love the baby more than anything in the world.. But unfortunately if you get postpartum depression you won't have any bond with the baby.. that usually passes in time tho and you will come to love your baby so much afterwards.

Yeah I tagged another user that is a mom. All I can say is my own mother shows unconditional love for both me and my sister.

She helps us be the best versions of ourselves and helps us learn through mistakes and triumphs like only a mother knows how to do.
