Emotional blackmail and/or abuse are typical traits of someone with narcissistic personality disorder. There’s an inherent level of sadism and physcopathy where seeing you physically or emotionally tortured is a personal validation of their inward suffering- they feel better about themselves because you’re worse off than they are. And they need constant supply- so no matter you’re succeeding or failing; in the end you’re always a loser and you need to be punished for it

just best to end it and go away far, than stay and try to diagnose it

but yeah... only psychologists/psychiatrist would be able to actually study and diagnose this kind of stuff

I don't do emotional blackmail, but if their feelings are surface deep and don't seem quite right, yeah. It's a lot of nuance
