Resizing a promise ring?

Hi, so my boyfriend gave me a promise ring and we are going to get it resized soon. Even though he got my ring size it is still a little too big/loose. I have never had a ring resized so my question for those who have does it come out flawless? I hear they cut a piece out of the ring and also is it expensive? I just want the same ring I have just smaller

They can resize it at the jewelry store it was bought from or at any local jeweler. To be honest, if you're around my age then I wouldn't recommend you to focus too much on a promise ring. The only promise for a deeper commitment is really marriage and that's through an engagement ring.

Promise rings are more common among young people in HS who aren't of legal age or those who recently started college (ages 18-20 mainly) but are too young and don't know what they want yet or don't have enough money for an engagement ring. However, older adults aren't into promise rings nor ''oh the moon and the stars'' anymore. After a certain age, you're looking for something long-term, not just verbal promises and seek someone compatible.
