Matching promise rings?

I’ve been wanting to buy my boyfriend a promise ring as we have been dating for over 6 months. I was wanting to get matching promise rings, but that kinda feels wrong buying myself a ring so we can have matching ones and I know we could just go shopping for them together so it’s not like I’m buying myself one but I want it to be a surprise. Should I buy myself a matching ring or should I only buy his promise ring?

I'd say talk to him and get a feeling for what his opinion on the rings are. So you don't waste money needlessly. Plus there are some gaps I'm sensing you should anyways get before jumping to promise rings like: A. WHAT IS HIS RING SIZE? o... o? B. What would fit his personality in terms of style. And C. Make sure he hasn't already jumped the gun on the idea LOL.
