Can a relationship between an older woman and younger man really work long term?

My female friend who is 43 years and a guy (35 years) have mutual interest in each other. She has two kids from a previous marriage and he has no kids but has recently divorced.

They have a lot of intense passion for each other, but can this relationship really work long term?

Her concern is he’ll want children eventually (although she doesn’t know 100%, they are at the early stages of a relationship) and that she is beyond that now and what about the 8 year age gap in general?

It’s possible. More of a chance I’d say if she didn’t have kids. It’s going to be one hell of a ride that’s for sure w her having two kids. Women may say they’re not looking for a father for their children but you’re expected to act like one w out the authority of discipline. My girl is 8 years older than me, we’ve been together for 16 years. They need to discuss whether or not they want children or not. If he knows he does for sure, but she’s not sure then I’d say he moves on. She could change her mind 5 years from now. There needs to be a serious discussion especially about her children. I have a next door neighbor, who has a song from a previous relationship. Kid just turned 18. Now he’s running around all the time, which is fine that’s his life. But he’s been racing up and down the roads with this car that makes a lot of noise. His friends keep coming by w their cars, disturbing the neighborhood. My neighbor can’t say a damn thing about the son’s behavior cause she takes up for him. The other night about 8 neighbors finally got fed up w it, called the cops. I called him, let him know what was going on. He’s like here talk to her. So yes they really need to talk about all this. If they have kids what religion will they be. How will they raise them? Whats his role when it comes to her kids? Can he discipline them? More than likely she will say no but expect him to bring food for everyone. Shell also expect him to protect not only her but her children as well. Again w no authority most likely.

They need to decide on kids, it absolutely can work though if they love each other. If his heart is set on kids it may not workout. If he doesn’t care then they will be fine age gap is no big deal

As someone engaged to a guy 13 years younger, I can attest to the fact that it absolutely can work out!

That's not to say that age can't be an indicator of something. You've got to be compatible in terms of life goals, maturity, etc. However, there are instances where people of big age gaps can be compatible in these areas. In fact, my fiance (who is 13 years younger) is much more mature and has life goals that line with mine then my ex (who is my same age)

With that being said, it sounds like that may likely not be the case for you. The kids thing wasn't a problem for us because I still wanted more kids (the only reason why I didn't have a couple more is because my ex didn't want to). Moreover, while I'm on the edge of my childbearing years, they were still there (and, for what it's worth, I'm currently pregnant with twins, so it all worked out)

However, in terms of your friend, it may be largely dependent on if she's interested in adopting (and if he's OK with his kids being adopted kids). While making babies the old fashion way worked out for me and my fiance, he was always fine with adopting kids if that didn't work out.

If I was 45 I think it would have been way less likely that I could get pregnant again (if it was possible at all).

If their relationship has any chance of lasting long term they're probably both going to have to be happy with adopting. Otherwise it just won't work out.

I will speak from experience millennial guys are the worst humans ever in history. Millennial guys are Mommy's boy and she will have to put up with Monster in law. I wonder why in hell is a 35 year old grown dude still single. Most millennial guys are not spiritually strong and they do not live Christian standards like generation X men do. Yeah Millennials dude are all a bunch of momma's boys. I dated millennials back when I was young and we broke up because mommy was jelly of some other woman being in her little boys life. Yeah not a good choice.
