Sadly flirtatiousness and teasing is one of the first casualties in a relationship; dancing I think is a way to preserve that. It is inherently teasing to feel your girl's body moving with you.

I like modern jive by the way because it is easy to adapt and invent dirty moves that really shouldn't done in public. Like back to front contra side steps. Girl steps to the right guy to the left then center and reverse. Public decency requires a gap but that is unnecessary in the lounge room since trouser tents are ok there.
