Would you get upset if I refuse to share my passwords?

My boyfriend (living separately) of nearly 2 years recently asked me for my FB and hotmail passwords. I asked him what he needed that for and refused to give them out?

If I don't even share my passwords with my siblings nor parents, why would I give them to my boyfriend? I never asked for his password.

I think unless it was a case of an emergency and I were to ask to me a favor or if we were actually sharing assets that would be different.

And no not if we are living apart, if together though I would be suspicious if tries to hide her phone password. Many times in normal relationships I see both partners know their passwords for phones just naturally because they just turn on their phone next to their partner or they have to share it at some point etc.

Even friends typically know the other's password depending on how close they are.
