What does your SO do that DRIVES you NUTS but you PUT UP with it anyway?

Question

Whenever my wife puts a dish in the kitchen sink to soak, she always covers the drain, so that water can't go down it. If I rinse a plate or wash my hands, I have to move her dish out of the way so that the water can go down the drain.

It drives me nuts... but I put up with it, never complain to her about it. There are bigger, more important things in life to worry about.

What does your SO do that drives you nuts... but you put up with it anyway?

She has a serious central nervous system issue that causes all kinds of weird sensitivities, so I can’t do a lot of normal things around her. She can’t hear music, right now I can’t even speak to her about what the weather is like, I can’t talk about anything that could be in any way negative or upsetting like current events, we have to be sitting in very dim lighting…. I basically can’t really interact with her like a normal human being, and it’s very frustrating. I’m of course not mad at her for it though, I feel bad for her and want to make things as easy as I can on her.

On maybe a more lighthearted level, that was more applicable when things were closer to normal…. she has the most uncanny ability to talk over the best part of a song or a TV/movie. Like she can be off in another room, and I’m listening to a classic song, or watching one of my favorite movies or shows, and that moment of anticipation builds up as you know that line you love sing/say along, or at least hear, is coming up…. and she could be out of earshot of it in the house, but the SECOND that line hits….”STEEEEEVEEEEE!!! Can you come here please?” It’s so dead-nuts accurate, like RIGHT when the line comes, that it feels like it’s on purpose, yet it couldn’t be, haha

With my first husband he used to drive me nuts when he would be driving and drinking a soda and put the soda can with soda still in it on the floor of the passenger side of the car. Naturally it would spill, and since the car didn't have carpet, it would dry on the floor on my side and when I got in the car, my shoes would get all sticky from putting them on the spilled soda that was just left there to dry. OMG!!

He is the noisiest coffee drinker. The clanking of the spoon, the scraping of the cup with the spoon, the need to constantly stir between every……single…..slurrrrp. 😱

It drives me crazy every morning, but I have never mentioned it.

I do not have a significant Other, but I have had women take food off my plate without asking me if it was okay to do so. This sort of action drives me crazy.

She doesn't put things back where they belong when she is done with them.
She'll leave clutter on the dining table, kitchen counters and island, bathroom counter, the edge of the tub, etc. When I look for something I need and can't find it, I have to ask her where she put it.
It makes me crazy. If I just set things down when I was done with them, I would never find them again. I have to put thing where they belong so I can find them easily when I need them.

We've been married for almost 29 years. At first, I would complain. But she can't grasp the concept of putting things where they belong. She'll say "I was busy". I realized that she's not in the moment. She is thinking about what she is going to do next before she finishes what she is doing. It's not malicious.
She has improved over the years. She tries. But she still does it. It's her nature.

I eventually gave up. Given the fact that she is a wonderful wife and does so many good things, it's not worth badgering her.

Surprisingly or not... I actually can't think of anything, lol...

At the very most there's some innocent bickering and/or banter, but never really anything serious that actually lasts. At the very worst perhaps speaking in a somewhat sharp/irritated tone. But that rarely happens either, and I can't recall any specific examples.

Granted, we are an extremely young couple, and I haven't known her for THAT long relatively speaking, but with how often we hang out, several days a week, several hours in those days, it feels like I've known her for at least a decade or more because of the sheer amount of hours, even if the passage of time objectively wasn't a lot. And either way, my love for her (and hers for me) is truly real and so very strong. :3

Goes silent when something bothers him and if I ask, he says it's nothing and then gets mad if I keep asking, also gets mad if I stop asking and also gets mad that I couldn't guess what was wrong.

It drives me nuts cos no matter how long I lnow someone I can"t guess what they are thinking 100% and I think it's enough that I notice that vibe is off and ask what's up so he can communicate.

But other than that we're fine so I put up with that
