I know personally that not all love stories end with a "happily ever after." Some are beautiful but impossible.
I feel like the ending of the story would speak volumes about our view of love.
So, what would your final line be?

I knew the day we met I'd always love you like I knew you'd never be mine, but it felt good to dream and hope even if for just a brief moment that something would change. I will love you from afar, standing by the shore watching the horizon. You are my unreachable horizon.
@7Phoenix7 Thank you!!🩷
Thank you for the MHO.
She smiled, knowing that there was much growth from learning that sometimes when one door closes, another one is right around the corner to open new opportunities to grow even more.
Ah... you are my breath of fresh air @Simslover92
Thank you! @7Phoenix7
Oh lol
Ah, love – the rollercoaster ride that sometimes leaves us with our hair a mess and our hearts asking for a re-do! 🌪️ In the beautiful chaos of falling for someone we can't have, my final line would be: "In the end, loving the impossible is proof that our hearts can dream beyond barriers, forever chasing the horizon of hope and learning to dance in the rain of what-ifs."💃❤️

Some times in life somethings are better saids with out anywords maybe just a look or maybe just a slight touch of 2 hands passing by each others.
A catch phrase from their conversations…. From some “bit” they do subconsciously.
Probably something like... "She is happy, and that's alright with me."
Male servitude. Happy wife happy life. You should read “The Tamed Man”, formerly called “The Manipulated Man” by Esther Villar
@SolitarySolace The penultimate chapter describes how I met my current wife, our wedding and honeymoon. In the final chapter, my wife asks me about the love I couldn't have. I tell her she is my true love, and then end the book with the above line.
None of that resonates with me.
You can’t always get what you want
The 2009 movie "The (500) Days of Summer" is basically this theme.
The movie focuses on Tom who meets a girl at work named Summer. She's not serious, but he's all into the mythology of love. He falls in love with her and, in modern terms, they have a situationship. She eventually leaves Tom.
The second to the last scene occurs on Day 500 since Tom met and became infatuated with Summer. Summer left Tom quite a while ago. In this scene, Summer visits Tom as he sits at Angel Knoll park in Los Angeles. She thought she might find him there since she knew this was his favorite place in the city and he took her there to teach her about the beauty of the architecture of the city. (Tom wanted to be an architect, but he met Summer at the greeting card company they both worked at.) Tom fell in love with Summer who never actually wanted a boyfriend was clear about that, but he likely never believe it being all into true love and destiny and such. So, he was devastated when she ended things. In this scene, Summer acknowledges that she, indeed, got married. So, all was lost with Summer. They have a good but bittersweet talk.
However, the end of the movie, which I believe also starts on Day 500, is wonderful as it becomes Day 1 with Autumn. The look Tom gives the camera at the end is priceless - the sort of thing that isn't captured in literature. It reminds me of the look Woody Allen gives the camera at the end of Manhattan.
I will let this scene answer your question.
For comparison, here is the ending of Manhattan...
Probably the best and best known story of unattainable love ever written.
Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter–tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And one fine morning—-
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
The Great Gatsby - F Scott Fitzgerald
"But alas, @Circushowcowboy never grew past a toddler, so it was not meant to be. The end"
It is a sad ending, if you couldn't tell.
Ummmm excuse you 🤨
That's a short story!
@7Phoenix7 you betcha! 💕
"Becky's annual cookout was a success, once again, even though the burgers tasted a little funny and their neighbor, John, had recently gone missing."
You spent 28 years being my best friend amd only listening to everything I ever said so you could tell me everything I ever wanted. to hear only to disappear when I left my wife for you? I can see why you are alone. And why everyone told me I was crazy for sticking up for you.
whoa. what?
Yeah. Thats my life.
@7Phoenix7 I appreciate your sympathy. You are a pure soul. I sinned. Not sure sympathy is warranted but pitty.
The whole male female dichotomy is natures way of scamming us into reproducing. It's all bullshit. I wish I'd known then what I know now.
None, I always ended up backing away from women at some point. I knew something was wrong I just didn't know what. They acted like it was a job rather than a relationship. All the romantic stories etc, that wasn't how it was. They always acted like I was a donkey or something to serve their needs.
“… and then he stared down at his feet for a time. Taking in the rich brown tones of his shoes and frayed seams of his pant cuffs. A tiny ant’s face peered up at him from the ridge in his shoes where the rubber and leather are bound together. A gentle warm breeze wafted a woman’s giggle across his ears, shaking him from his reverie.
The sound of an engine roared to life down the street. “Well, I guess that’s the end of my lunch break,” he muttered to himself balling up his paper bag.
Being the writer I am I will alter a few lines from a poem I wrote long ago.
Though as fate decreed it was not mean to be let it be known that the moment I fell in love with you,
You could never die,
Because long after you are gone my words shall remain and within them you,
A beautiful tapestry, my greatest masterpiece forever immortalized in ink.
There is a road that leads to home in a story never told.
forget every cheesy lines i sprouted here and take this one sentence to your heart where it is pseudo empty from your not soon to be real love
not do it.
"While they say , there is every man for every man... am sure my princess charming is somewhere out there waiting for the right time to come on his horse "
I guess the final words would be probably something like: "And the mystery continues" :P
Lol 🙃
We can't always get what (or who) we want, but as life goes on, we eventually find what we need.
I had no other choice than to forget about her. Life's to short to feel miserable.
I might base it on my own experience. My childhood sweetheart and I wanted to marry, but she got in an accident. The last line might have something to do with learning to moving on.
"I'd love you with my whole heart. and treat you SO good..."
Sorry but no girl is ever gonna want to be with you.
Thankfully I have who I loved n still live more than anyone n I m married to him
Eventually you learn to deal with it and hope that someday in the future things will change.
It's been real, but it hasn't been real fun!
And they lived happily ever after 😆
And heaven knows I'm miserable now. (Quoting The Smiths)
I wish that I never heard of this place.
Off into the sunset they flew
Be along the lines of
I tied a while other line that apparently didn't post.
When you truly love someone, watching their happiness as a friend is truly enough
That's because you're amazing :)
The two aren't mutually exclusive. You being amazing makes it easier to accept your compliment 💕
"I am sorry."
"The last thing I ever heard was the clicking of the trigger."
So in conclusion, life sucks 90yo balls.
“At the end of the day, it meant nothing at all”
Can the world be moved closer together
"Love stinks, yeah, yeah"
Then that fucking bitch drove away with the money.
Reader, I married her.
awwww
Accept what has happened and move on
It is what it is
