My father took my older sister and myself camping when we were kids. I was maybe 4 or 5 years old at the time. I remember swimming in lakes, catching bullfrogs, and being told scary stories around the campfire at night.
I was young enough that I don't have perfect recall of that trip but what I do remember...
I remember during one particular story about a masked chainsaw murderer that hunted kids at night, my uncle was hiding in the trees and started shaking one of them before firing up a chainsaw out of sight.
It scared the living shit out me and gave me nightmares. I barely slept a wink that night.
It's one of the only memories I have of my dad which is reason in itself to make it special. However, it also instilled in me a drive and appreciation to spend time outdoors.
As an adult I spend a lot of time camping, backpacking, canoeing, etc. It's a grounding act now and whenever life gets to be a little much, I go and do solo trips for a week or two into back-country spaces and it clears my head.
I also get to be that cool uncle who takes his nephews and shares that love of nature with them. I've taken my eldest nephew on some amazing fly-in trips to places most kids, nor anyone really, will never get to experience.
I'm now just now waiting until my second nephew is old enough to do an epic trip with his brother and I. I've already got it all planned out. White water canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and scary stories around a campfire.

As a relationship coach on a mission to help you with all matters of the heart, let me sprinkle some personal charm here. I'll never forget the day my daughter was born. It was pure magic, like falling in love at first sight. Her tiny fingers, that adorable cry—my heart was officially hijacked. At that moment, I realized how deeply someone could love another human being. Life changed, and I've been wrapped around her little finger ever since. 💖

9 moMy 30th birthday because I was with the two most special people in my life (my best friend and my ex who was also just my best friend at the time) and I also had my first real kiss that night. I needed to feel like myself again after being diagnosed with a mental illness months prior and they made me feel good by taking me out and having a good time.
My ex then proceeded to give me my first real kiss. It was so special and nice. I'll never forget that night.22 Reply- 9 mo

9 moBecause back in the early 1970's there was a terrible snow storm that hit Ohio and in Canton it was all the snow plows could do to keep the main street's open and not us and all I had was an old 1/4 ton international pickup truck that was 4 wheel drive and when I went to work on that Monday and it had started snowing on that Sunday.
And I had to hook up my snowblade, then I put four big mounted truck tires in the back of my pickup for weight and then drove home. When I got home our street had not been touched all day and the snow was still really deep. So I set my snow blade so that the snow would be pushed off to the side of the road and dropped my snow blade to the street and started to drive forward and the snow was so deep it started to push my pickup off the side of the road so I backed up and I raised my snowblade about half way and started again and this time I went straight down the street and when I got to the end & turned around and started back and I put my snowblade all the way down to the street and started back and I had no problem with going straight and on the way back up I was surprised at how many people had come out & started to shovel out there driveways. Then it was two days later when two people came to the door of my house that I found out that my allotment had a newspaper and I was going to be in it. The two people told me who they were and asked if I had got paid or worked for someone and paid me to plow out the street and I said no that I had not been paid or worked for someone to plow out our street and it was my own pickup & my own money and I still have a copy of that newspaper clipping today. Christmas Day Morning 2017 when my then boyfriend (now husband) dropped down on one knee and proposed to me, asking me to become his wife... Special is quite simply a vast understatement!

I definitely should have mentioned that this is very, very closely followed by the birth of our two extremely precious and cherished children... Along with our wedding day (when he saw me walking down the aisle on my father's arm) these have been the only times that I've actually seen my husband crying... Indeed again, a very beautiful sight.

Aww that’s lovely.
Yes of course, I’m not married…so nothing like you mentioned; but one of my happiest memories is seeing my parents almost break into tears when I did something to make them happy or proud. It kind of made me realise how much my efforts matter to them. Besides that, probably the memories with my cousins and friends making stupid dance videos and playing with them.
9 moJuly 7th, 2018. I was in Nubra Valley, Ladakh. Always been into space stuff, intrigued by the idea of so many mysteries out there. That was the first time I saw a night sky actually full of stars. High altitude, little to no light and air pollution. Saw the milky way directly for the first time, meteor streaks every few minutes, it was magical! I'm pretty sure I got teary eyed just staring up at the sky. 😂

It absolutely was breathtaking! 😃 Two days later I was by a lake called Pangong Tso with an even clearer night sky. But Nubra Valley is a special memory on its own coz it was the first time the night sky looked like I had only seen in pictures and desktop wallpapers before then.
This is a good question! I was 13 years old. It was 2004. I was in Florida with my family visiting my grandparents. I loved cars at the time and my favorite was this niche Swedish manufacturer, Koenigsegg. It turned out their sole dealer in the US was not far from where we were at the time (their cars weren't street legal yet in the US, but the dealer was there to appease potential central and South American buyers who didn't want to travel all the way to Sweden). I was too shy at the time to call, but my mom insisted and she got an appointment for all of us to go see the Koenigsegg CC8S at the dealer. I got see it, sit in it and the photos are priceless memories. It turned out there only 6 of the model made and the chassis that I got to experience, #7004 (the 4th example), was the same one driven by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear. Best childhood memory ever!
10 ReplyI spent a week with my uncle after having not seen him for over 12 years, and A LOT had changed in that time. The last time we met, I was a kid and he was a law student. Now, he's a practicing attorney, and I'm a medical student.
In that tine he got married, had 3 kids and the kids got older. It was my first time meeting them, and I was very happy! By the last day they had gotten used to me and didn't want me to leave, but I had to return to school the next week so we said out goodbyes. We're still in contact and I miss them a lot.

Because i can say I got to see them win thier 5th and 6th championship in person. Which not only means a lot to me personally, but at the rate the Bulls franchise is going they might never win another one in my lifetime.🤣 they've had a 27 year drought since.

10 Reply One happy memory I’ll never forget is the first time I watched my favorite sports game live with my friends. The excitement, the cheers, and just being fully in the moment made it unforgettable. It’s special because it reminded me how simple moments of joy and connection can leave a lasting impact.
