What is your personal definition of LOVE?

My personal definition of love is this--- A deep enduring connection transcending romantic excitement.  Love is simply delighting in that person with respect, trust and empathy.

Love only grows when 2 people choose each other and removes selfishness for each other , which pretty much means , sacrificing for each other , understanding you can’t always get your way , so if you want to experience love with someone , the both of should learn to accept each other for who you are , not from what you think you can receive from them , which sadly a lot of people tend to do when getting into relationship, not realizing it’s for the wrong reasons , and then they wonder how come their relationships don’t last? Most relationships fail because of selfish mindsets , which we all have selfishness inside of ourselves , so if you can’t remove it for your partner,, don’t expect them to remove it for you period. Love to me is having each others’ backs and standing by each others’ side through the good times and bad times , knowing you both have each other to lift you up when one of you falls. which will eventually happen , cuz nothing stays great forever. So someone that truly loves you is going to stand by you no matter what , whether you lost your job , or bounced your bank account , whether you car took a shit and broke down , etc. someone that loves you is going to stand by you and help you get back on your feet , someone that doesn’t love you will walk away , because they are a selfish person that only cares about themselves

I think love is everything at once. It's wanting to be with a person for no reason. It's wanting to be with a person when you hate them because they pissed you off. It's wanting to be away from the person because you will miss them and think about how much you love them. Its being with that person and having a good time or a bad time. It's being with that person because life is just more with them around. I don't find love in good things there are always good things I find love in all the bad things and how my person makes the bad things not so bad or better because who they are ans who I am. That's why I say love is finding everything at once and still finding more. Love doesn't always feel good. it feels like growth to me. I realized this because the people I love the most push me to be my best self it don't always feel good in the moment but I try to always appreciate it. I know I will later.

LOL, you're a romantic, hopefully not too naïve a one.

Love is simply a drive to excel in something - at any cost.

Hence why you get serial killers who love what they do - until stopped. Or governments or alcoholics and others who drive themselves into a grave to get the thing they love.

In the case of relationships, it's people who will pull all stops for the other. Unfortunately some take it too far in stealing or killing for their partner.

The French have a special law for such cases. But the main thing to understand is that love is a dangerous emotion if used incorrectly. It can switch every rational thought off as much as unchecked anger can.

You often wonder "how could they do such a thing?" when terrible things happen, but never consider it may be their love to do it.

The world is actually scarier than you could ever know.

Both Dr. Phil and Aunt May Parker defined love as putting the other person's needs above your own. I agree with that to an extent, but they both left out how important respect and admiration are. I can hold another person's needs higher than my own and not love them.
