I’d actually choose single parenthood. For me, having a child and experiencing that bond would mean more than being married without ever getting to be a parent. I’d rather build a family on my own than stay in a marriage that leaves me feeling unfulfilled.

My plan has always been to pursue artificial insemination and raise a child on my own if I don’t find the right partner. I’d rather bring a child into a stable, loving environment by myself than involve a man who isn’t fully committed, supportive, or emotionally healthy. I’ve seen too many situations where the father is absent, unreliable, or causes more stress and instability, and I don’t want that for my future child.

If I’m the one providing the love, security, support, and guidance, then I’m perfectly capable of building a happy and healthy family on my own. I’d rather have a child intentionally and raise them in a peaceful environment than stay in a childless marriage or depend on a partner who may not be good for us.

If those were the only two choices, I’d choose the option that gives the healthier, more stable life not just emotionally, but practically.

A childless marriage gives partnership, support, and stability.

Single parenthood gives purpose and love, but also a huge amount of responsibility you’d carry alone.

Both have meaning, both have sacrifices.

But if I had to pick one, I’d rather build a solid marriage than raise a child without a partner.

Not because single parents can’t do it many do an incredible job but because doing everything alone is heavy, and the child also deserves stability.

So I’d go with the marriage.

Quality of life matters, and a strong partnership can still be a full, meaningful life.

If we’re talking about real life, their stability matters just as much as our preferences.

It’s easy to answer from emotion, but raising a human being is bigger than that.

So I try to look at the whole picture, not just what feels good in the moment.

If you can afford it, assuming you have the funds to raise a child, being a single father can be good, it’s not just about having a goofy little mini me, though that’s a bonus, it’s a making a person, creating a life, a person who is better than you, someone who makes you say “the future is in good hands”

I have 2 kids and am married. I love them all very much.

That being said, raising kids is hard especially as a single parent. I think if given the option id rather be in a childless marriage. It would be painful not to have any children but I was already prepared for that eventuality anyway since I can't bear children as it is. Thankfully my wife was OK with carrying our two children so I was still able to fulfill what I wanted in a family.

I dread the idea of losing her to illness or accident. I can't do it alone, especially being crushed by her death. That's why id never want to be a single parent.

Being a dad was on my list of things I wanted to do happened to do it single. Very challenging and don't recommend it but no regrets and I've enjoyed it.
