that was never my favorite holiday and now it's the anniversary of when i got together with my fiancé, not by design. nevertheless we have to celebrate it and i can't wait until we're married so we'll have a non-Valentine anniversary we can celebrate

last year we went to Bali during bye weeks and this year i'd love to go again (or parts similar), but i won't have the time off so i expect he'll be around pestering me a lot during that time. it won't be as easy as it was in my last job, so this will be a big test for us. we've talked about it much and i'm still worried he'll feel neglected because i won't be available

by the way regarding Valentine's Day in general, if you really want to save yourself a lot of stress, go out to dinner the night before. you'll have a fully-staffed restaurant to yourselves, all the best chefs will be in getting ready for the next day, your pick of all the best food they've ordered, no fighting for reservations or parking or tables, it's heavenly. when we're able to be together we go out on the 13th and spend the 14th at home for romance only (and food, of course), but it's hard to tell sometimes whether he goes for the romance or the food more 🤔

Well every year since we've met we go do an escape room together, a movie, and pizza in bed to end the night off, just quality time together, so probably the same thing again. Yes valentines day is a money making scheme, but at the end of the day we'll take any excuse to celebrate love, and make our partner feel a little more special.

Don't have a partner currently, but if I did, I'd probably take my partner to a scenic hike with a few drinks in hand, or I'd cook a steak and garlic mashed potato and serve it with some red wine.

Sometimes I don't celebrate Valentine's day though. Never used to believe in it. Always felt it was a commercial day used to target couples and spend more money. Now I kind of treat is as a reminder to love your partner and put in a little more effort. I still don't believe in getting my partner flowers though and likely never will.
