I never needed that. Mother wasn't a great help and as child I changed too often Kindergarten and Schools to build up a deeper friendship with other girls.
Without being offensive, in my experience girls who need a lot of affirmation of other girls are often drama queens, spoiled princesses or girls who never want take any responsibility.
I've sisters and a mother but other than that I know that women can be the most toxic people to have around you rather than be supportive. Not uncommon for female friends to sabotage each other out of jealousy or an imagined slight.
In all honesty, not that important to me. I do enjoy my friends, I just don't find them to be my most important relationships and rarely confide anything too close to the heart.
It's important for me to have friends, it doesn't matter what the gender is. I don't "need" the support, but I like knowing that I am not alone, that I have people to count on even if it's for something small.
Very important. My girl crew are as important as my guy crew.
