For me - It’s my dad.
I don’t talk much of him, but he’s the foundation of all the good that exists in me.
All I can say is that I feel like I am one of the luckiest women existing in this world because I have had him.
His love has always felt the deepest, the most accepting, devoted, respectful and peaceful for me. He always believed in me, trusted me and encouraged me. He was my best friend and I knew that whatever I’d decide to do - I’d have his back and more than that, I’d have his belief!
Next to my mother’s volatile personality, who felt like an ocean, one day with the deep love and the next day unexpected coldness, my dad has always been like my anchor - Someone who’s always brought peace to me, always been there for me and whose love has never hurt me. Actually that’s the best thing I have ever felt in life, his stable loving presence has been the constancy I always needed to ground me and to believe in myself.
I never worried much about other people’s opinions growing up, because the main man of my life, supported and loved me so much. Whose opinion could even matter when he was the highest metric for me?
And that love never felt like I had to earn it - It has just always been there, regardless of what I did or said - I always know that I have his back.
That’s such a wonderful gift to the daughter.
And that’s something that has redeemed for me every little negative thing I have experienced in childhood.
