In corporate life as I rose through the ranks my boss told me “the tall trees catch the wind”. Meaning that the higher you go the more flak you will take.

One thing I still remember:

Something my grandfather said that I'll remember `til my dying day!! He said, "Always"... No, wait! it was, "Never"... Nope, let's see. What was it he said? Oh! It was, "Get your ass over here, you little son of a bitch!!" He never liked mom much. She was his least favourite daughter. Oh!! Here's what he said!! "No matter where you go, there you are!" And, y'know, he's been 100% right about that ever since!!

Where i worked right out of high school there was an older guy that I worked with who I thought was ancient. He was probably 50 . He told me to never get old.

I clearly remember many things told to me, or to us. Like during childhood, being told by the neighbor girl to the rest of us, "you know, you guys, we really shouldn't be doing this" (during one of our many naughty sleep-outs in our back yards).
