I was for 2 years. I saw red flags but I stayed optimistic and then later I found out he was dating other women at the same time. I ended it after finding that out. He would define our relationship and usually asked to see me at night most of the time.

Seems like a waste of energy. Choosing to push past and ignore conversation about one's intent and expectations initially because it's uncomfortable. Also leaves them emotionally drained. Better off single anyways, no?

For instance:

Moving in with a guy and having to sleep with him because you have no where else to go.
When your life gets too hard and you have to have help from someone who you don't want help from but it's your only choice or be homeless.
I guess it could mean other things but that's what I think it means.
