Is uncontrollable laughter at serious moments a dating turn-off?

I've always had that issue. I don't mean to laugh but once the laughter starts, I can't stop it for several minutes. At times this happen during bad moments too. By the time I stopped, I'm in tears by then.

It happened at the theater once. I was watching a movie with my brother and two long-term friends. There was a part about someone having cancer, the nurses assisting the poor man and that's when the laughter happened where I couldn't stop. It lasted about 10 minutes. I hate this.

Is this a turn-off. I do not mean to laugh and don't want to but once it happens (less than before), I can't stop it at that moment.

I would personally find it very off-putting. Inappropriate laughter is usually a sign of psychological distress.

That's pretty much what has always been happening to me. I don't want to laugh. It comes all of the sudden and it doesn't even match what I'm feeling. I can be sad, upset, stressed out and all of the sudden the laughter comes out of nowhere and I can't stop it at that moment. I can't help it.

What if I don't like it when that happens and wish it would stop? That laughter doesn't even match what I'm feeling at that moment.
I felt very sad for that cancer patient character in the movie and the laughter comes out for no reason.
