Should I pursue a guy coworkers call a ‘ticking time bomb’?

For context, I work as a independent delivery driver. I go to a wearhouse and pick up a load of shipment to deliver to it's set location.

In this wearhouse there is this guy, and I have yet to have a proper interaction with him, but he is HELLA FINE. So I desperately asked his coworker what his name was, and she gives me the most grim expression telling me he is crazy from what she heard he threatened to attack some managers for not letting him do something (she didn't tell me what) and it was a whole thing. Then on top of that he is a bi-polar jerk.

I had heard similar things about him before from a different coworker of his too, but he has never really shown those characteristics from what I could tell. The other day he even started playfully interacting with me which caught me off guard, but today it went back to the normal not interacting stuff, so I'm on the fence about this guy, cause he seems like he is alright, but I can't just ignore a multi-person warning.

(Also if this sounds similar to another post, I was just reading one from someone who crazily had almost the same type of situation as me, so if you think this is a repeat I am being so genuine on the fact I am genuinely interested in this man and not asking for clarification on his actions, moreso on if I should try to interact with my guy)
