What does he mean by "we are technically together"?

I've been talking to a Guy I met for a couple months now. he's long distance but we've met already and I've bought plane tickets to go see him in 3 wks.

When he left he told me to be "good" as in not see other guys. He said he'd be good too.

But last night over texting he got sorta upset that I posted a boudoir photo on fb. But then he said he can't really get mad about it cause "we technically aren't together". His words not mine. I removed the photo anyway.

But I told him that I kinda thought we were technically "together" Because I'm flying half across the country to see him and I'm not talking to or seeing anyone else.

His reply was "you're right then. We kinda are technically together".

So now it just feels like its something forced, not wanted.

So I need help reading this...does it sound Like I'm in a relationship now with him or should I just drop it and leave it at that, whatever that is. I'm confused as to What "technically were together" means?!?
