Why does my boyfriend like to sleep really close?

my boyfriend has trouble sleeping and will only sleep if I'm spending the night. he also likes to sleep really really close. he likes to pull me into his chest and lay his head on my head and kiss me, spoon me or me spoon his or in some way touching me. its to the point where I'm literally falling off the bed and when I do ask him to move over he will but not far. why does he like to sleep so close?

Agreed with the previous male answer; it's about comfort and non-sexual intimacy. Sleeping alone sucks, especially if you're single, because it's a nightly reminder of just how single you really are.

With that said, in my last relationship, my girlfriend and I would cuddle, and she kicked me off her (twin-size) bed twice in one night. I couldn't sleep anymore, and I told her I was going downstairs. But somehow, it was MY fault that I couldn't sleep because she kept kicking me off the bed. So it's a double-edged sword.

I'm gonna say its about comfort. He loves you and is glad to have you next to him as much as possible. You should be lucky because a lot of guys get the "suffocated" feeling. Just tell him you like sleeping with him ( if you do) but tell him to be more considerate of your sleep space.

Maybe get a bigger bed, or put it against a wall. Just remind him that gravity exists.

Me and my friend had this problem, I bought a King-Sized bed. We're alright, now. Peoples sleeping habits are beyond their control, I have particularly bad sleeping habits in terms of covers and RANDOM BOUTS OF VIOLENCE. Just get a big bed.
