Why do people call me "Barbie" and "Blondie" if I'm a black girl?

It's confusing, I don't like it and don't understand why people call me that.

The only reasons I can came up with is my love for pink, I've got lots of pink things, name it and I probably have it (ipod, laptop, umbrella, cell phone, sneakers and of course lots of clothes)

Sometimes I'm slow at picking up the jokes, but I don't play dumb or anything like that, and people say I'm extremely naive

I also have a very cheerful personality and I'm always exited about something, it's really easy to amuse me or impress me (I just can't help it)

But I don't think any of these things are reasons to call a black girl "Blondie" or "Barbie" I feel really offended but people don't stop, even my best friend call me that the other day

You do know there are black barbies right? The lady who designs the clothing for the barbie is an African American female and she looks like barbie but the dark version meaning brown skin dark brown eyes and black hair but she looks like barbie. I think some felamles are referred to as barbie depending on how they act and what they like. it has nothing to do with ethnicity. As I said it's associated with behavior and attitude.

Okay these are the names Janet Black Perkins, Carol Spencer and Charlotte Johnson are three of the women who have worked at Mattel over the years designing clothes for the Barbie doll. Also, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Givency, Gucci, Donna Karan, Byron Lars, Monique Lhuillier, Bob Mackie, Nicole Miller, Badgley Mischka, Zac Posen, Anna Sui, Versace and Vera Wang have all designed clothes for her.

Aww you seem adorable. It is probably just because you are a little naive. It also could be from all the pink stuff or the combination of it all. Tell you close friends you really do not like it and to please stop. Ignore the others that say it to you.
