Can you really "see it in their eyes" when someone likes/loves someone?

"He loves you. I can see it in his eyes."

I've heard this said on TV, in movies and books, etc. Everywhere, pretty much. And a few months ago my boyfriend's best friend told me, "He loves you, you know. I can see it in the way he looks at you."

I myself have never seen this in real life. Either that, or I can't tell. Do you think something changes in the physical way someone looks at a person when they've developed feelings for them?

Yes, this is partially true.

When a person likes/loves someone, they can't stop thinking about the object of their attraction. They'll look at the person they like/love with doting and loving eyes. In a way, you can't see it in their eyes, but you can see it when looking at their body language and facial expressions.

The question is, if someone is looking at you, is it love or lust? Just use your perception to tell whether this guy is authentic, and is in in for you, and not just your body.

Well you can at least tell if they find you attractive cause their pupil will dilate, but that doesn't mean they have feelings for you.

But usually people hide when they like you so they won't make too much eye contact to begin with.

If they do tho, yeah you can probably tell a little bit.

I know girls can see it in my eyes cause they're very expressive.

Yes you can, when they are giving you that low eye seductive stare, batting their eye lashes, their eyes and everything about them seems to light up when around you and they smile, blush and giggle uncontrollably and when they get close to you their eyes start closing and flickering trying to resist the temptation of jumping on you because you make them feel so alive and happy.

depends whether they are comfortable with their feelings , resisting, ignoring or hiding them.

if comfortable it would probably result in a brightening and softening of the eyes with a happy pleased glow.

if uncomfortable they might look angry resistant hard or stoic when in your presence.

and if they are hiding them from u. they will just look a bit -on purpose- bored, aloof blase' , indifferent or oblivious to your presence.

My boyfriend's eyes do light up when he sees me. He doesn't notice it and has said before that his eyes are dead, but I can see the change :) if I go into the restroom right after we have had sex I can see a different look and expression in my eyes/facial features that were never there before I met him.

It's not like they literally look at you differently 24/7, but there can be moments where they look at you (or whoever) and with the look on their face, it may as well be written on their foreheads.

Also that person might become way more shy / timid than usually when nearby their object of desire

Definitely. If someone's in love, guy or girl, I can always see it in their eyes.

body langauge definitely shows something. to an extent I think so, you can definitely see a guy really cares for his girl when he is around her
