If God had a face, would you want to see it if seeing meant that you would have to believe in Heaven, God, Jesus, prophets, Heaven, etc?

No.
Seeing God's face doesn't decipher a true heart.
Imagine some mystical Deity emerging out of the sky;
Some will only believe out of fear, some blindly, like worshipping a king only because they forced you to by obviously showing they are one - most... will be suspicious.
I mean, we are going to then, be at the mercy of a God who ordered the death of millions, flooded the entire planet, and harbors cosmic power... for eternity, or go to hell.
Think of how awkward eternal life would be.
Stuck in this heaven, with a strange powerful being you've never known, scares to death to speak up or even live there, for fear of his wrath.
can't really enjoy heaven.
Christians forget what kind of God, God is.
This is not some marshmallow plush God that just let's people do whatever. This God created hell, the place even demons and people who boast about being all for Lucifer, understand is dark, twisted and dreadful.
God is also the Lord of Darkness. Even Satan was biblically created by God.
So,
Just seeing God, doesn't mean you'll trust, love or even like him.
Like seeing your parent who vanished your whole life, suddenly appear and start telling you to do everything.
This is why God speaks of coming to all, but being sought by those who actually love him back lol.
Love doesn't happen by simply seeing your Father after forever.
You have to realize you even had one. Learn who he is, what he is... who you are from the genes you received from him.
I met my biological dad after 17yrs, and seeing him, didn't make me suddenly love or want to be with him.
Its learning who he is, seeing the evidence of his love for me, in keeping all the pictures, letters and gifts for me. Worrying about me, him looking for me all these years - then now, building that relationship so I know what kind of man he is.
If he's worth loving.
If he's relevant.
What his heart, mind and soul is like.
Same with God.
I know in my soul God is my spiritual Father, from my existence before this earth was even made.
But we were separated because of the evil things I did. I ran away, because I hated him.
I hated His rules, His will... His heaven.
Parts of me still do.
But, He managed to find me, and we are working through some serious family dysfunction in this short lifetime lol.
I can't explain why I'm curious to know God, besides the same feeling of wanting to know my biological father.
That bothersome question of why do I exist, why this earth, this reality - and where do I come from.
I've listened to a lot of religions, practicing several of them. Philosophy, any random persons take on life.
They're all hints, like the letters my father wrote to me when he was deported years ago...
He does have a face, however nobody can look upon God's face and live. God is spirit, which means if you're looking at His face then you are departed from your body. Plus God's face is to holy to stare upon... we aren't worthy enough to look at God's face like that even if we could.
Obviously, yes. I'm not a religious person, but if there was a face of God, there'd be a god, and I'd want to see proof and adjust accordingly. Would be silly to cling to an disproven belief just because it didn't align with what you expected.
Sure, but belief isn't the same as acceptance. I. e. I believe that Donald Trump is president, but I don't accept him as someone who is in any way decent. Similarly, believing that all powerful entities exist doesn't mean I agree with their philosophies as gods. It could very well be that all they'd have is power - they wouldn't have earned their moral authority, just taken it by force.
Yes but when god spoke with his true voice the people asked him not to so it again for they would surely die ( sorry i forget the scripture passage) but it makes me wonder if it's like Alan Rickman's character said in Dogma "humans do not possess the capacity to wothstand the power of gods true voice.
God's voice was like the worst thunder you could hear and would probably scare you to death. It scared the people so much they asked him to stop. Also, no man could stand to see God's face because their human body could not stand His brilliance. That is why he told Moses to turn around so he couldn't see God's face, but could see him from behind as He walked by.

Human's can't look upon the face of God while alive because we'd die.
Moses was visibly and physically aged just by being near him and looking at his backside. In fact God told him to turn his back so that he would not look upon his face because he would surely die.
Moses took a ride with aliens at the speed of light
@Charlie_King That would be pretty cool but no.
As a Muslim. God is so powerful and superior of everything that humans won't be able to see him. They won't be able to resist and bear the powerful force and would eventually faint. He has given us signs in this world. Well for the disbelievers, i would say Hell was created for a reason and hell is in serious need of its fuel. The fuel are evil doers and disbelievers.
Of course I would. I may be an atheist but part of that is adapting my beliefs based on new information. If I had rock solid proof that the Christian God existed then of course I'm going to check it out.
I wish there was a something else option.. What if God is a spirit, that he had no face or form. I believe there is a God, he runs my life and I know he does what's best by me ☺
Well if we're talking about like an actual event not all the people who claim to have seen god/gods then yes that would be the whole proof thing we always talk about.
I would probably spit on his face. So, I'd much rather not see his face.
... Why is Jesus commonly depicted as a white guy in the United States, considering that he lived in the modern equivalent of Saudi Arabia?
That's also an additional thought I had on this...what if God was NOTHING like he's been depicted or at least depicted in the faith you are aware of. For example if "he" was a "she" or he was black, or he was actually a child...people cling to the images they think are of their religious icons but could they believe if visually God looked 100% different than depicted.
For all we know He's just a ball of light or something.
I tried to see it for years and was met with only emptiness.
But what if God was one of us, just a slob like one of us?
I don't know a single atheist who would refuse to convert if God would just literally show himself.
Haven't decided whether I believe in Christianity yet but when I was like 7 I had a dream I was holding God's hand on the beach... Its weird because I didn't really know anything about God but I knew it was him 🤷🏼♀️
I think it would be really great if God was real because he could come down to earth and explain to everyone that most of the shit being said by the church is utter nonsense.
God cannot have a face in the first place. If it exists, it's a spirit not a human.
The Bible says God created man in his own image. I'm just saying.
I wouldn't mind believing in God if i was able to see him.
Yes. However, no man can see God and live. Sure, God could make it where you can see His face and live.
Well if god HAD a face then that implies a hypothetical situation where God IS real and seeing is believing.
Loosely... you mean directly.
ALL atheist would be ok with actual proof and would willingly believe once proof was offered.
But since there has never been actual proof, we don't.
Actually I have seen him God himself in my dreams twice so far and i've seen angels demons poltergeists ghosts and greek gods and egyptian gods but never norse gods for some unknown reason and a shape shifter once.
This would be it.
I mean how could I be sure it’s actually god without well documentation.
You can't know anything to be 100% no matter what, including not knowing if 100% certainty is real or not.
You can't be sure there is a such thing as an atheist as much as I can't be sure there isn't a such thing as an atheist. The point remains, there's always a possibility we can be wrong since limited humans who have limited minds wouldn't have a concept of the spiritual world since they'd be judging it using their own minds.
It could be the case that God, Satan, angels and demons have a probability of 1 in existing and it is impossible that they can't exist. It also could be a probability of 0 that God, Stan, angels and demons can exist and it is impossible that they can exist. Either 1 of the 4 or all 4 of them in both scenarios. It always could be between 0 and 100% somewhere. Like I said, as limited humans, we can't know the true nature of any potential spiritual realm or any potential only the natural realm exists.
@Exorcist_Rampage Of course, but we know that personal experience isn’t as reliable as we make it out to be, hence why we need documentation. Other people should be seeing the same results that I claim if it is really true.
But you know it's very unreasonable to discredit people's spiritual experience who have no concept of angels and demons and yet are able to give very detailed experiences. Surely that should count for something as maybe you could be wrong. They shouldn't be discredited so easily. You know some people can't make up such things like people think.
@Exorcist_Rampage Well why the inconsistencies amongst personal experiences.
And I don’t think it’s too hard to imagine these people could have imaginations like that. I mean the Abrahamic religions are known world wide.
Yes. That happens a lot but it could be in certain cases, they forgot certain details and some just make it up. I'm more talking about the people who give 30+ minute testimonies who previously had no concept of angels or demons and able to thoroughly give deep concern about what they do and why and show real fear and concern for others.
This encounter could happen to you and you may want to share your story but afraid you will not be believed so decide not to or share it with a person who may trust you instead. You must acknowledge what they may be going through.
Valid point.
It would just be some random being.
We'd probably shoot missiles at it honestly lol.
I mean, wed jus believe out of fear, forced.
What would stop us from revolting against God then or in the afterlife?
He would be like a sudden force - invasive even.
What if it isn't even the Christian God?
@dancing_in_nebulas
Bit what if it is the Christian God who truly rules the universe and created it?
@Exorcist_Rampage
How would you know? We've never seen God until that point, to compare.
Also,
How do we know to trust or understand God?
He created Satan in Genesis 3:1, and let murder, rape, disease etc happen, to us, his children.
Kinda hard ya know?
@dancing_in_nebulas
Yeah but the Problem of Evil and Divine Hiddenness are not flaws in my opinion enough to dampen belief in God's existence for me.
@Exorcist_Rampage
For you.
We are not the same.
What works for one person, doesn't for another.
Remember that there are also false believers right?
How do we know who is who, if everyone believes only because God popped out the sky?
Some of us aren't born just believing because.
Some of us need more to believe than just seeing.
And belief isn't based off just seeing God's face.
There has to be a reason to believe. A real reason, or your belief is fake.
By biblical standards, a false faith won't save you.
So.
How do we know who is false and who is real, if everyone just believes out of seeing?
People hate Trump, but still respect him due to his position as president.
Likewise.
People hate God, but would only respect Him due to his position.
It's not real.
@dancing_in_nebulas
Okay. Saying God isn't real can be said but it doesn't make it true.
Also, the Holy Ghost is how we discern truth. He reveals it to those who know they need salvation. It's up to us to accept or reject the Holy Ghost's call for salvation. We all get at-least 1 chance.
@Exorcist_Rampage I say this each time, I don’t doubt the fact that they might’ve experience this, but I doubt that this experience accurately reflect what is actually the reality of things. We know the human mind is highly flawed and often we cannot just use experience to determine what is real. For example, have you heard of a sleep paralysis?
@Deathraider
Right, it doesn't mean that but you could also be wrong on your analysis of their experience. Ever thought about that spiritual possibility?
I'm saying since we were not there, it's easier to discern who is faking it and who may be real. Some people you know are lying, like men raising 33 men from the dead at a tent revival. If he said 1, it would be more believable. Also, depending on the severity or the unlikelihood of the event, we may give them certain benefits of the doubt. SOme we may think, hmmm, they must have really grasped some things.
I really believe our true nature of the universe consists of the physical world and spiritual world and both are real. People mistakenly assume only the natural can be real and the physical is either fantasy or unproven/unknown. I think our spiritual realm consists of unseen angels and demons and after death, we will get full spiritual awakening. I think this life is nothing but a dream unto our waiting steps of our afterlife to come. How we behaved here and respond here matters to a Holy God.
@Exorcist_Rampage
The "Holy Ghost," isn't the correct one, because there's too many denominations of Christianity.
A Baptist says they know the truth through the Holy Ghost, but disagrees with a Catholic who also says they have the Holy Ghost.
Today's Christianity is man-made.
Teachings of men - human philosophy - not the spirit of God.
Christmas for example, is pagan. Jesus birthday is found nowhere in the Bible, yet a Pope, a man, teaches that it is?
Man made.
That's why God showing his face, would do nothing to separate the sheep from the goats.
The "Holy Spirit," is a trick churches use to keep their followers giving them money.
The true Holy Spirit, would only have ONE CHURCH DENOMINATION.
One teaching.
One way.
All Christians would go to only ONE church - not over 850 DIFFERENT kinds.
Its obvious there are false prophets, because even Christians can't agree on what's right.
Wolves among the sheep right?
Non-believers are not the enemy.
God uses us to help you guys pull the wool off your eyes.
A church in Texas was shot up by a random gunman.
A catholic cathedral blown up by lightening.
A priest crushed by a crucifix.
The Holy Spirit, is obviously not with the Christians anymore.
Priests molest children.
Pastors practice money fraud and laundering.
Child porn found in churches.
A pastor beat his own son to death for not confessing his sins.
A 12yr old girl is forced to marry a 43yr old man, as Gods will.
Several people drank poison under the command of pastor Jim Jones.
The Holy Spirit is gone from Christianity, obviously.
So how can y'all tell anyone, anything?
@dancing_in_nebulas
Just because 75 people all disagree doesn't mean all 75 are wrong. It could be 74 are wrong and 1 is right instead of them all wrong but we know at least 73 are wrong.
@dancing_in_nebulas
Just because they claim to have the Holy Ghost doesn't mean they do. If they habitually sin by raping or other things, they are just professing to be Christian bit not living as a Christian.
What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus trying to make his way home?
Yes one day hopefully soon cause life n people suck
Let's say I see it and now believe God exists. I still wouldn't worship him.
If I saw God and somehow definitely knew that was God then I'd have no choice other than to believe in him. But I don't.
I would want to see the face of the being that created me
we'll that would me he exists and he's proven he exists, so yeah.
You wanna see God, smoke some DMT
Wouldn't sell my soul.
Nope he can fuck off.
That would help, yes.
no. if god existed, i'd hate him anyway.
If its just some dude on a bus how is that a god?
I would want to see a psychiatrist afterwards.
Am I missing something? Those are both pros?
Why is Jesus portrayed as a white guy so often?
Yeah true how funny.. Every country portrays him to their own identity
Seeing is believing.
Yeah
No..
