Is using tampons a sin?

Turkey is a Muslim majority country but when I asked some questions on Kizlarsoruyor about tampons I got more than one person commenting on my questions asking what is a tampon.

I don't know if you're Turkish or not but generally the girls doesn't use tampon in Turkey. Talking about menstrual period is still a big taboo in some conservative families, so it's normal if that girl doesn't know what the tampon is.
