You believe that they are with us. The reason I ask, because I’m curious of your opinions also because I lost my mum when I was 15 years old ( I’m 31 now) and I heard from a psycic earlier and she mentioned some crazy things… but also I believe you cling on to any hope you can

Absolutely. Our consciousness with which we experience this life from the point of view of this body, doesn't belong to the body, therefore doesn't share the destiny of the body.

I think the biggest clue and the sole reason why we have dreams is to hint us of this possibility. When you're in the dream it seems like you are the dream body, but when you wake up, you realize you weren't the body, but the knower of the experience that survived the disappearance of that dreamed reality.

Also people who take strong psychedelics or have profound mystical experiences report they "died" from the body and had the recognition that they're this immortal consciousness and lost their fear of death.

But what we can't say is what we experience after our current body dies. If we are meeting our loved ones or not. And if we do believe life after death, we have to believe we could have lived lives before this one and it's not a problem we don't spend time with our "parents from the past lives", if that's even a thing. So at some point we have to let go anyway whether there is or isn't life after death.

I can't explain what I believe to make much sense but I'll try.
Your mum's not gone exactly, she's in the dirt nurturing the flowers, she's in the air, the energy that was once contained within the nurons of her brain have returned to the electromagnetic field.
Matter and energy can't be destroyed, she's not gone.

No I don't. There's no reason to believe any part of you survives your death when everything about you relies on physical processes.

Yes I do. I had my own experience with ghosts. I can talk to the dead and sense when they are around.
