Can you be a Christian without believing everything in the Bible but at the same time understanding the morality and logic behind it?

You can't be a true follower of Jesus and a true servant of God if you can't or don't trust in the bibles entirety, from Genisus to Revelation.

I don't see the point in referring to yourself as a Christian, and not trusting in the faith.

A lot of Christian churches christian/baptise their children from a baby. But even Jesus wasn't baptised as a baby. He was an adult.

So people often say they're a Christian just because they've been christened as one. Doesn't mean they are one though. Considering what the bibles says about being a true Christian anyways

See I call my self agnostic since I don't know if god exist or not, however I like what the Bible has to say on a philosophic level. My issues are it seems god contradict himself a lot of the time in the beginning especially with Kane and able. If incest is a sin then how could Kane and Able have had kids without committing the sin of incest. It makes no since. And Mary being pure I was taught she was 14 why wouldn’t a 14 year old be pure

We’ll see that’s the thing even Orthodox Jews believe creation was largely symbolic, I question a lot of the contradictions in genesis and later what in the Bible primary Old Testament.

For example in incest is a sin then Kane and able and Seth wouldn’t be allowed to have kids as a result. Then people want to tell me incest became a sin later. Which make no sense to me if it was a sin when Lot did it why isn’t a sin when Noah did it or Kane and able. If having sex with say a 14 year old is evil why is god having Jesus be born to a 14 year old by that logic why isn’t the age of consent 14 and not 18 the only difference between then and now is people live longer

In the days of Adam and Eve, and later Noah, sex was more about creating the next generation. In the early days of humanity, the human genome was very pure and free of defects. It wasn't until later that incest had degraded human DNA to the point that genetic defects started to emerge. So God, through Moses, forbade it's practice any further.

By Jewish customs, in the days of Jesus a woman would get engaged and be married around the ages of 12-16. And we know the Mary was engaged to Joseph at this time. If she's old enough to get married, she's old enough to have kids. Although this argument is kind of moot because God didn't have sex with Mary.

Ok so the idea my mom taught me once a sin always a sin doesn’t really apply to incest. And everything that wasn’t a sin until the law of Moses a lot more thing was not sin. So in a sense adultery and lying wasn’t a sin until the 10 commandments murder was a sin when Kane killed abil (I don't know how to spell these names I was a Christian growing up I studied the Bible vigorously ironically once me and my x broke up I walked away from the church.)

I think so. But that means being out of tune emotionally which I think is the whole point of it. Jesus wasn't being logical, he was being attuned to the emotional problems and solutions. To me... God is love, love is emotion... love is an emotion. Thus, God = emotion of love. Jesus is the best representation of that in physical form. Following him, his spirit within, that is being a Christian.

I do my best, I've made more mistakes and flaws and not obeyed more times than I can count. I want to do better and be true to Christ purpose in my life, to live fully in love, share it with my girlfriend, family, and community to help others see Christ. That my heart.

I don't think /any/ christians today believe everything in the bible. All christians pick and choose the bits of their holy book that they like, it's why none of them can agree on which version they like or which parts are only supposed to be metaphorical.

You can be anything if you believe into it with your heart. I grew up in a Muslim family, I don't know if I should call myself a Muslim but i am not that religious, I don't care any rule or punishment written in that book and I just live my life. That's because I think those religious books ( all of them ) are changed in due time, we are on 21. cc right now and I see no point of being stucked to rules&punishments what these books say.

However I love all prophets, I have more sympathy to Mohammed maybe because of my family, I also know the logic and idea behind that religion.. it's not even %1 close to what these terrorist scums do at Middle East, they just abuse the religion. So yeah I like it and I see myself connected to this religion in some way, I am sure u can do the same and nobody can judge you about it.

How about the story of Samson slaughtering 1000 Philistines (because a single philistine man lied to him and cheated him out of a wife)? Have you ever read Leviticus 25: 44-46? If so, what is your interpretation? If not, would you give it a read and then share your interpretation with me?

Incest was not prohiibited until God gave the law to Moses. You can be legally married in some states even now at 15.
Pedophiles are people who seek out young children. I don't personally consider men interested in teens as pedophiles as teens are well developed and capable of making adult decisions. That being said, that behavior is illegal in the U. S. but men in Muslim counties take teen brides all the time. In the U. S. to have sex with a person 18 or younger if you are 18 or older is statutory rape.

I said it was not prohibited but it doesn't mean it wasn't known via conscience and natural law. Lot's daughters raped him and this was a sin and it was prior to Moses. We liked won't know answers to many such questions until a later time in our existence.
